NZ Day 2, Turquoise sea

After another visit to the Botanic gardens in Christchurch and breakfast in the grounds, we drove 3 hours from Christchurch to Kaikoura where again there was a big earthquake in November 2016 which damaged most of the buildings in the town. Our little hotel only reopened last November and a lot of businesses are still shut. We passed many single track roads which are being repaired and are only open dutpring daylight hours. I am getting used to seeing the sun rise in the opposite direction to which we are used to being in the Southern Hemisphere. This is a view from an old jetty near where I had a splendid half a large crayfish for dinner, yum yum. It is extremely warm, high 20s.
