Changes To Come


After all the work at the allotment I’ve been feeling very guilty about the garden.

The summer cottage was the start of the changes we decided to implement; we have plans!

Himself has built me two beautiful planters one which we call ‘the destroyer’ is full of leeks, the other is full of bulbs. Both are big enough to seat several people and have actual seating space. They are beautiful. I can’t wait til my leeks commence growth again and my bulbs have all come up.

The bottom right of the garden has always been a mess; we inherited an ‘alpine bed’. Was it hell - a badly dug over space with a couple of fir trees and a pile of rocks nabbed from the shore.

Himself has dug it over, dug a ditch and used the rocks to create a small wall around it. I have started painting the fence and collecting plants to create my colourful winter corner.

I plan bamboo around the outside; I have an
Acer, and a beautiful red and green leaved plant. I want it to be a colourful spot all year.

The cottage will have another coat of paint and then another coat inside, stepping stones will lead the way from the house to the cottage.

This and a million fairy lights lead the way to change :)
