Soweto
Just after 10am we were on the City Sightseeing Hop On/Off bus from Rosebank, Jo'Berg for a tour around the city and onto Soweto.
Soweto is an abbreviation for South Western Townships and is where many activists of the ANC (African National Party) lived including Nelson Mandela. Bishop Tutu is also from there and many famous South African people live in its suburbs as well as affluent business people. The blip photo shows the rear Nelson Mandela’s house which amazingly had no tourists in who pay to go in. It’s usually packed! I managed to feed my camera through a gap in the fence to take the photo!
The blipfoto extra shows the Freedom Charter House interior. It's in Kliptown, Soweto and is now a National Momument of South Africa and most of it’s charter is included in the Constitution of South Africa.
