Barter Books

Barter Books is one of the biggest second hand bookshops in the country. It is housed in what was Alnwick Station. I hoped to buy “The Abbess of Crewe”, the only Muriel Spark book needed for the forthcoming course that I don’t already own, but they had no Spark novels at all.

I had a lunch date there with Lynne and Jan, the friends I’d tried to learn Italian with for years. It was really nice to catch up, chat about the films we’d seen, Books we’d read, and Lynne’s forthcoming play. We have agreed we’ll meet again in June, after we’ve all got back from various holidays.

Mr C and I had a dental check up - all fine.
