Cologne
Back blip (and that's the last of my 2017 blips now uploaded!)
Day seven of our Rhine Cruise took us to Cologne. Or at least that was the plan. A week or so before we travelled to Germany, we got a phone call from the tour company to say that we would now be docking in Dusseldorf and we would be bussed to Cologne for our walking tour.
This change to our itinerary didn't matter too much, as we still had plenty of time for our guided tour plus a fair amount of free time afterwards to wander at our leisure.
The highlight of the day was definitely the Cathedral (Kölner Dom). Construction of this magnificent building began in 1248 and wasn't completed for over 600 years. It was easy to see how this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
