first birthday

Marius is 1! I don’t know how it’s happened, but we’re here!

He was in good form this morning after having been ill yesterday. We had his presents set out for him in the living room and a few balloons dotted around the place. He loved his new toys. We also got some beautiful cards, including a gorgeous one from blipper and friend, ValC - thank you!!

Annie and Daniel got you some beautiful wooden toys, including animal boards with pull-out creatures, and a wee set of wooden cars
Grandpa got you a Jack & the Beanstalk book and some money
Carrie and mum have put money towards us getting a portrait photograph done
Auntie Tash got you a wee kitchen from IKEA (a big hit!)
Your godparents Luce and Karmjit got you a class xylophone and wee construction trucks that go by themselves when you turn the wheels (also a big hit!)
Jen, Florian, and Arielle got you a blackboard and some chalk
Charlotte, Stephane, and Emmie got you a cool frog that you can keep all your bath toys in
Tracy & Chuck got you a set of stacking boxes, each one housing a different little animal
And we got you some wooden animals (the ones that are on your birthday cake). Your dad has also given you some of his old toys from when he was a wee boy - hand-painted prehistoric animals that he bought with money he used to get when he’d helped his dad out at work. They are so beautifully made.

We went to the auberge for lunch although M didn’t eat much :(

The party, however, went ahead as planned! Marius played with his wee friends and had a great time. We all had cake and champagne and it was brilliant. I loved it and I hope Marius did too xxx
