Hygge

My Danish friends call it hygge and they say the concept is untranslatable but includes the idea of cosiness, simple pleasures and comfortable relaxation especially with friends and loved ones.  On the rainy and dull day, for me it is sitting in front of the fire, watching the six nations rugby and anticipating a tuna and squid dinner followed by the concluding episodes of the French crime drama I have been following.
Incidentally, the iron cobra was made for me in a couple of minutes by a skilled artisan blacksmith whom I used to take schoolchildren to visit.  On each visit he would make a poker or a small item as a memento.
