Language
Tonight in Pranayama class the teacher asked if everyone could understand her. She asked the Russian group in particular. "Do you all understand English? Do you understand what I'm saying? Where are the Russians?" Only one of the many Russian students in the hall raised a hand. An assistant said something in Marathi to the teacher that had to be, "See, they can't understand you." So the one man who'd raised his hand was appointed the role of translator.
On another language note, she referenced Prashant, who says that to quiet the mind, we need to relax the throat. If I understood correctly, the idea is that the throat center controls language, so if we control the throat, we can cut language off before it forms into distracting thoughts.
