Happy February
Yesterday our ceiling light fixture in the laundry/mud room died after 38 years..long time for a fluorescent light but we hardly ever used it..I mostly did laundry on the weekends when I was working when it was daylight. Now I do laundry in the mornings. We have a big double window in this room so no extra light was needed. So we go to the Lowes Home Improvement with an idea in mind about what kind of light we (I..!) wanted. No such thing. We ended up with an LED light that has no bulb! Just a clear thing with processors and other thingys under it and wow, is it bright!! If the light burns out (and it says it will last thousands of hours), we would just have to buy a new light. And it was only about $20. As we are 65 years old, we probably won't ever have to replace this one!!
So we had the classic harvest gold light shade that I really wanted to repurpose for something, antique, pretty color..you know how us crafty people are. So I am thinking and decided it would make a really pretty bird bath holder!! So after giving detail instructions to the hubby (who is not a crafter..more like an engineer! ) he had it affixed to the deck railing where I had that other ugly watering hole for birds. Now it is pretty and this morning, a mockingbird came by for a drink! The old watering pan is inside. I had to put some rocks around this for the birds to stand on as it was about 3 inches from the edge all the way around. We will see if the other birds come by today for a drink and a bath!
