Afro Comb

Back in the 70's ... everyone wanted to have an afro hairstyle ..... sadly this often meant unspeakable chemicals being put on you head to try and persuade resolutely straight (by which I mean not curly rather than any gender preference) hair to become a tumble of lose gorgeous curls. Unfortunately this usually meant having hair like tangled straw. To tackle this problem, the afro comb was invented .... basically a wide toothed rake to try and make the stuff on your head look a bit more like hair.

This is a picture of my comb .... yes I have had it since 1970 something and I am still using it, although have now come to terms with stair rod straight hair. It's lost a couple of teeth and the top of the handle has broken off, but then none of us are what we were .....
