Today I took our teaching staff into Timaru to visit local industries to get an idea of what the local employment opportunities look like for our students and to find out direct from the employers what they are looking for in school leavers.

One of our visits was to Primeport. We were to have had a tour around the port but the sea fog made it impossible (safety issues around lack of visibility on the wharves).

Despite this fog the temperatures climbed to 29 deg in Timaru, and were even higher in Temuka. We got back off the bus (that had no air conditioning) at home to be greeted with 32 deg at 4 pm. Ugh
