Maid of the Loch

Fundraiser at Celtic Connections to help this 1953 steamer to sail again on Loch Lomond. She is the last paddler built in UK at the yard of A&J Inglis in Glasgow. She last sailed in 1981 and great strides have been made in restoring her at Balloch by a dedicated band of enthusiasts. A £5 million lottery grant has been awarded if another £1 million can be raised. I remember sailing on her many times. Rousing concert entertained the full theatre with archive footage of the steamer in the screen
