Sectarian Tudors

Two Tudor monarchs that didn't see eye to eye, and were therefore kept safely back to back when the Farmer and Brindley statues were placed on the the Lockwood & Mawson Town Hall of Bradford.

The last of the sun warmed the stone nicely.

Edward VI was son of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour and succeeded his father, becoming the third Tudor monarch. Mary, daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, had to depose the nine days queen, Lady Jane Grey to gain the throne, after Edward tried to remove her from succession.

I'm slowly working my way through the thirty five statues of heads of state that adorn the Town Hall. Just to the left of these two stands HenryVIII himself, and round a couple of corners, you'll find the Normans. Thirty one to go...
