Tartan trews and shiny shoes
What a day of weather! I suffered three soakings: one on the way to work; another on my walk home; and a third when heading up to the Assembly Rooms this evening for a splendid dinner hosted by the Royal Society of Edinburgh (see the extra).
Tartan trews were very much in evidence at the dinner, as blipped. Many guests also made the most of the occasion to wear their honours and medals. Mr hazelh and I enjoyed meeting lots of new people at the drinks reception and then at our table for the meal. My immediate dining companions were two very lively octogenarians. One was a retired professor of psychology, and the other of sociology.
It was a late walk home after the dinner, but at least it had stopped raining by then :-)
Exercise today: walking (20,459 steps)
