Corbridge

On the way home from a nice hotel near York, stopped off in Corbridge.

Originally built as a packhorse bridge, this was completed in 1674 and was the only bridge from source to mouth of the Tyne to survive the great flood of 1771. It was widened in 1881 but still takes only single-file traffic.
