Stellenbosch Wine Tasting

When you're in Stellenbosch you go wine tasting as the area is famous for it's wines. We decided to book a tour with an expert as it meant I could drink and not drive! We went to the four wineries of Neil Ellis, Rustenberg, L'Avenir and Kanonkop with lunch at a Simonsig where we didn't wine taste but enjoyed a glass!

The blipfoto shows a bottle of Roussanne wine we bought at Rustenberg that we both enjoyed. The Rustenburg is the oldest in the area dating from 1682 and the grounds are stunning. The extra shows rows of vines. The other extra shows our small group of six wine tasting at L'Avenir.

We were dropped at our hotel at 5.15pm and having started drinking before 10am, we enjoyed a late afternoon siesta to sober up!  A memorable day in great company. The young couple were from Manchester and the other retired couple from Sweden who now live in France.
