Purple Swamp Hen

Today we went to one of our favourite birding places, El Hondo Nature Reserve. I was lucky enough to get a photo of this Purple Swamp Hen. They are usually about but far away in the distance and in the reeds. This one was a bit nearer and just on the edge of the water so for once we could see the whole of the bird.
