Oyster stew

We took my mother to her home today to get a few things she needed and for a visit. She gathered up her things and I asked her if she wanted to go down on the pier. Well yes she did! So, down we went to get a couple dozen oysters for her to make a stew. Hubby caught them and she shucked them. The big orange glove protects your hand from the jagged shell and the sharp oyster knife. Very important since she is now on blood thinners. I just took pictures as I think they are gross! She said this big boy was a Clyde oyster because my grandfather only kept the biggest ones and always let the small ones grow up. I hope she had a good time. It is very hard for her to have to live away from home.
