Snow is falling
Snow turned to ice very quickly this week and has shown little chance of melting over the last couple of days. Today, despite forecasts of rain and increasing temperatures it hs snowed again pretty well all afternoon. The dog walk was slow and steady to get the time and distance in and pretty satisfying,
The blip is of the farm which I've photographed a few times in the summer. Snow stretches over the landscape as if wielded by some manic magic paint brush with little colour added. The challenge from the hedgerows is in their buds bursting through, the daffodils parting the grass and in the two wood pigeons I watched bravely fixing up a nest in the top of a newly trimmed hawthorn tree. Optimistic I would say! Although winter has its time, it's good to see the familiar pattern writing itself again.
