Peppercorn Lane

I was meeting my friend Tony for breakfast, this morning, and I'd planned to drive to the office and then walk into Kendal. The traffic on the M6 - coming up from the Minx's - was so bad, though, that in the end I had to drive straight into town.

Kendal has the most irritating one-way system, so I decided to park at Peppercorn Lane, which is a little car park just beyond the parish church, and walk from there. I love this little stream that runs alongside it. It hasn't been covered over on its way from the hills down to the Kent, and I like that. (I always feel sorry for the Fleet, in London, hidden from view.)

From there I walked along to Brew Brothers, where I had a lovely time with Tony, although he is so generous in conversation, you have to work hard to make sure you hear his news, too.
