Sarah and I have had a touristy day! In the morning we went on a Brunel tour organised by London Walks. Starting from Embankment, we caught a boat to the launch site of the Great Eastern, a ship so large that it could carry enough coal to steam to Australia and back. We then travelled to Rotherhithe where there is a Brunel Museum and the Grand Entrance Hall of the Thames Tunnel which opened in 1843. The photo shows our guide Robert and the rest of the walkers in the Hall. I could recount so much interesting information about it, but dinner is almost ready so have a look HERE instead!
In the afternoon, we went to the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane to see 42nd Street (a Christmas present from my parents). It was AMAZING!
D arrives in Tooting in 2 hours' time...
