My Knee

Was having a very good day, U3A meeting this morning, looking at last weeks images from the field trip, plus more images. Good lunch with some of the group.

This afternoon as it was a really lovely day thought I would go over to the Stithians Dam, to look for water birds. Went to the first hide very little the only thing there was a distant coot. Went back to the car then thought I would go to the other hide. I was just walking along the side of the road when I twisted my ankle, I think there was a dip in the road and I was on the floor, landed very heavily on my knee. My canon 7D, 300mm prime lens and tripod laying in front of me. Very fortunately my 300mm lens was OK and my tripod was fine, but my Canon 7D camera body was smashed. It had taken the full impact, it has a dent on the corner and a long crack across the body and it is not working.

I decided to go to the local minor injury unit as my knee hurt so much, they said it is just very badly bruised and swollen, and to rest it for a couple of days.

Then when I got home a phone call to my insurance. Fortunately it is covered. Just have to wait for the assessors to phone.

So not a bad day really, just very annoying.
