Bread Making Hands

Today we baked bread for science - you know, yeast and how it works, etc. We compared the yeast to a mushroom (fungus) :0) ...discussed the meaning of dormant, then we woke it up with warm water, honey and a comfortably warm oven...and finally killed it in the hot oven - to which the kids all called me the yeast murderer :0(

They made 4 loaves of odd shaped but yummy bread and then we all concluded that next time we'd use the regular flour instead of the wheat flour because none of us were really into wheat bread.

Other then that a bit of a buggy day - I got a fire ant in my sock and it bit me half a dozen times before I finally nailed the little creep - and then my youngest had a scorpion on his bed!!!! sucked it up the mini-vac and then flushed it down the loo but poor guy is quite upset and doesn't want to sleep in his bed now (can't say I blame him)
