ruffled feathers

Two of last years cygnets returned to the lake this morning. The two resident swans were definitely not impressed. There were great shows of noisy wing flapping against the water, and low flying aggressively towards the incomers.

Unfortunately I couldn't get a shot of this as the trees around the lake were inconveniently in the way.

I did get this shot though as one swan took a short break from bullying and just swam around making itself look as large as possible with ruffled feathers and fluffed up wings.
