2018 Tuesday — Storm Sky
It poured, I mean really poured, rain all last night. It didn’t rain nearly as much today, but the clouds hovered above us all day. About time for sunset, we walked out onto our neighbor’s lower deck to get some photos.
Sometime during the day we heard about the Montecito flood in Santa Barbara. We saw that section of Santa Barbara on fire back on Saturday, December 16th as we drove north through that city to begin our Christmas days away. What a horrible mess.
I did get some school work done today. An all new online program will be launched in September, and those of us who want to continue teaching online must learn the new program and have our materials uploaded into the new program, which is called “Canvas.”
Here’s a blurb about Canvas:
“A Learning Management System is
a way to simplify teaching and learning by connecting all the digital tools teachers use in one easy place. Think about a classroom. Most classrooms have some basic things in common. But what happens in each classroom is unique, personalized, and customized by the teacher. The experience in each classroom is what sets it apart. That’s the goal of Canvas LMS. The enterprise software that helps take the classroom experience into the 21st Century is to Make Teaching and Learning Easier. To put our arms around whatever it is that you do, whatever it is that makes the classroom special. Whatever it is, Canvas plays nice with all of it. It’s easy to implement, easy to use, and easy to make your own.”
That’s our Tuesday,
Rosie (and Mr. Fun), aka Carol
