Flat calm
11.9C and calm with a pale blue sky clouding over later.
Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. We took our usual route up the road to the church and down to the shore through the field. Still lots of bales in the field. Soggy underfoot in places. A plough is lying in one of the fields waiting for the tractors to return and continue the ploughing. I have to suspect the ground is too wet.
Over the railway line at the level crossing and down onto the sand. Hardly any beach to walk on as the tide was very high. Less than two metres between the water's edge and the dune grasses today. Maeve had fun dodging the little breakers as they washed and hissed up the damp sand. Lots of seaweed on the wider part of the beach by the Fishermen's huts. The view out to sea seemed to be the focus of my attention today. The sea was very calm and had a sparkle and a shine on the surface and the clouds were shielding the lens from the direct sun so I could shoot directly out from the beach.
We had a wander round at the huts but I was drawn back to look at the sea and the blip is a shot over one of the places at the back of the thin dune line where the Fishermen keep some gear.
Later there was peeling and chopping of carrots and potatoes. Root vegetables back on the menu definitely indicating a change of season.
Update: Just after 5pm there was a shower and a double rainbow appeared. I managed to get a shot of each end from upstairs. The left 'end' from the back of the house, the 'right' end from the front :-)
