Light and shadow
Late afternoon and my brother from the Hutt Valley and I were out having a quick tiki tour round before he headed back home. It had started to rain a little but none of the fishermen who were on the platform and up and down the channel minded at all. The light was just right for the trees to cast a shadow and a boat came up the channel at just the right time.
The theme for Wide Wednesday was appropriate for the day we had a Memorial Service for a loved sister who lost her battle with cancer. Held at her home in her extensive garden with close family and friends it was a time to celebrate the happy times/ the light and the not so happy/ the shadows. Much laughter, few tears, as her three daughters who had nursed her for 12 months were now able to go back to their lives and their families.
A tui flew through as we listened to a last song and a piwakawaka hit a window and fell into a nephews hand, sat a moment and then flew on. Take from that what you will.
Thanks to Steveng for taking up the challenge while Bobsblips swans around South Africa.
