Pico do Arieiro

We hired  a tour guide today to do a tour of the east of the island.  Our first stop was Camancha to see the wicker baskets.  From there we went on to Pico do Arieiro.   The view was amazing and we were lucky there was no cloud on the top.  Our driver then took us over hills and mountains and twisty roads to Santana to see the A houses.  There are more than the last time we went there in 2007.  Another scenic ride  back and lots of information about life on the island.
The weather was superb and we got back to our hotel weary but having had a really enjoyable day.
