First Fire

The house was cold upon our return, even though the temperature was a moderate 60 or so outside. I built the first fire of the season, warming the house to the temperature of the surface of the sun. But the hearth offers a cozy place, the heart of the home it seems. Wood heat can be a bit messy, but there is a soul to it that other heat sources don't have. When will the last fire be? April? May? Time will tell.
