New Year Bonfire
Every year we light our big collected burn pile either New year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. Usually. We need a dry day with no wind. Well this is just Jan. 3rd. We didn’t even get it all —there will be another. I can’t help but remember very fond times with my Dad, raking leaves and then burning them in the (brick) street! The beginning of my pyromania? No one to tell us what that did to the atmosphere.
However, today I can’t not see images of all the west coast wildfires out of control.
But also how beautiful it can be. .
I’ve been looking at some blip experimental photos on reduced exposure, Markus' challenge. (nature, artistic impression) Not sure this qualifies but I did reduce the exposure to get the fire pattern in the middle of the afternoon (extra) when it was light, with just a tiny bit of background. We used to do them at night but our pit has gotten all uneven and dangerous to walk around so we need to see better.
I see last years' was on Jan 5!
