Last outing of 2017 took me to Spike Island in search of the elusive kestrel or kingfisher, but neither obliged today. However, I did see the lovely Great Spotted Woodpecker around the feeding station a couple of times in the sunshine, along with a pied wagtail and what I am assuming what a rat - it was too big for anything else. We have my parents coming around for dinner and games later to bring in the New Year.
