Bin

Milly wanted me to drop her at her boyfriend's on the way to the office, this morning, and we set off together in the car at about eight-thirty. There was a bit of snow around Kirkby Lonsdale but it certainly wasn't a blanket. However, by the time we'd travelled a couple of miles along the A65, the snow was falling more heavily and settling.

It was actually quite beautiful on certain sections of the road, and I felt fairly safe in my car, but in the end we turned back. This was mainly because there was now quite a layer of snow forming on the road but there were a few people driving as if it was a dry, sunny day! The prospect of going down the steep hill at Nook suddenly didn't seem very appealing.

So, we got back home, lit the fire, and I worked at the dining table. By ten o'clock it was apparent that the weather was clearing up and Milly asked if I'd drive her to Crooklands, to meet up with her boyfriend and his family on their way to Lancaster. Sadly, all the beautiful scenes that I would like to have photographed this morning had pretty much disappeared by this time so I had to satisfy myself with this chilly looking bin.
