Heading North for Hogmanay
2017 has been a challenging year. Nan fell in May and now requires 24 hour care which I travel to help with each week. Mum followed with her own fall in September breaking her hip, requiring a full hip replacement.
It’s been tiring travelling and trying to study etc. So a break for New Year in Scotland has been keeping me going.
We spent Christmas with family and were ready to set off to head north for our much needed break. Mum (who was due to be able to drive again today after 12 weeks unable to) fell again requiring an ambulance to get her up and was whisked to hospital with a broken wrist. Again she’s done a proper job of the break & we will wait to see tomorrow when she returns to hospital whether it’s going to need an op. They had to manipulate it back into place... the waiting game tomorrow to find out whether that was enough.
We did manage to set off and the views were stunning and arriving in Fort William was to much relief. 2 nights here and then Inverness for the big celebrations.
2017... be gone! 2018 please bring health, happiness and good times for all.
