Autumn Leaf

I picked this leaf up while walking the dog at lunchtime. I'd already got a photo to use just in case but thought an image of bacon cooking for my bacon sandwich could be bettered - the bacon sandwich however, could not! Nothing like a bacon butty raise ones spirits!!!!

The leaf was shot on the slide viewer but in the conservatory with nice diffuse lighting thrown onto the top.

Now onto a whinge!

We went out this afternoon to look around a new store in Coventry. It used to be Stuart Edwards and then Cole's furniture. They've re-opened at a much bigger place in Coventry and extended their range to other lines too. It took us nearly thirty minutes at the check-out because of a problem with their stock control system and none of the supervisors were willing to simply ride through their controls and ring the value of one item into the till. we were several times about to walk out but they kept saying they'd fixed it. The transaction should have taken two minutes tops!

The only apology we got was from the poor girl on the till who had no authority. None of the supervisors (I think three were involved at various stages) apologised. They've corporately forgotten why they were there - to sell, not to pander to some invisible back-office bean-counter at the expense of their customers.

We've bought furniture from there many times over twenty five years. We'd already picked out a replacement for the lounge suite while we were there today. I now feel no inclination to part with my hard earned money with them now. What would you do?
