the Seamstress

Fiona brought her Christmas present (from Nanna, of course :-)) to the island so I had to record her first sewing with it.    It’s pretty cute… doesn’t go backwards or zig zag… but sews with foot petal or switch at 2 speeds.   Plug in or battery.   IF all thread is lined up OK.    She’s having fun!!  This is to be a bag to keep sewing in.   she has several new sleep masks she uses as headbands. 

The girls brought all sort of card games for some hilarious entertainment.   Last night we played "Crappy birthday"  After we all read lout loud Dylan Thomas' a Child's Christmas in Wales" which we used to do on Christmas Eve when our kids were small but didn't happen this year. A new old tradition ?
Rain all day.  Rather dismal.
Some walked outside in the rain,  Some made pancakes, banana bread,, soup for dinner.   (Fiona is very helpful!)   And it seems a good time to light up the sauna soon….
