The Cloud Factory
When our boys were small, we would drive past a factory in a neighbouring city which produced copious amounts of smoke. The kids somberly came to the conclusion that this must be the place where clouds were made, and ever since then I cannot look at a smoking chimney without thinking that! Here is our own local cloud factory in Boston, working overtime into the evening hours!
A rather frustrating day. We drove to Connecticut yesterday afternoon so that I could get to our dentist to fix the inopportune tooth incident which occurred on December 21. It turns out that half an ancient tooth in the back of my mouth (which mercifully had had a root canal) decided to give way, leaving me with a very jagged stump which has really done a number on my poor tongue. The dentist told me I need a crown, but our schedule is so crazy until the end of January that she put a temporary cap on the tooth to make things comfortable until I can spare the time for the procedure. The cap lasted precisely two hours before it came off. So now I'm back at square one with a sore tongue! Two and a half hours of driving from Boston to CT yesterday, another hour's drive to the dentist today, followed by an hour return trip to Bridgewater, and then two and a half hours (which turned into just over three hours with traffic) back to Boston. Sigh.
