Lake George

Much better LARGE.

We are not long back from the national capital and have just gotten through looking at one of Trisharooni's pictures from yesterday, which shows something of the snow that Blackheath had received while we were away. As it turns out, huge dumps of snow fell pretty much all along the "Great Divide" yesterday even reaching the beach at Moruya. Paladian knew we were going to cop all of this. South Australia had been hit the day before. I DO wish these "croweaters" wouldn't keep sending us their terrible weather. Surely that's not too much to ask.

Anyway, I shot this from the car (while Norma was driving) as we zoomed along the Federal Highway about a half hour north of Canberra. In the distance we can see snow covered hills and wind farms. Closer by we see part of Lake George, which is (of course) a fascinating story in its own right. Mostly it's no more than a few metres deep. Sometimes it disappears altogether to become sheep grazing land. At other times it resembles a veritable inland sea.
