Red Admiral Day

I think this is a red admiral butterfly resting in the bird feeder.  I was intrigued by the patterns on the underside of the rear wings.  If it's not a red admiral please correct me.  The extra is a wet weka.  It came and had a long splash in the ceramic bowl of water I have in the garden.  It did get totally wet and then trotted off to the lawn to preen its feathers.  It hasn't disturbed the newly planted rock melons  . . . yet.
Tonight we had a street barbecue and sat outside and chatted and laughed.  It just needed a guitar and we could have still been there.
