We're having a mid-week thaw, with today's temps in the low 60s F (17 C). So at the local pond the smaller birds, like the gull (in extra), can still stand on the skim of ice, but the bigger ones, like this Canada goose, just plow right through.
But another cold front is coming in for the Christmas weekend, so it should be frozen solid again soon.
