Madagascar Day 8

There was a bird walk leaving at 5am this morning, but I opted for a lay in, too many really early morning starts in a row, I was exhausted, but I did go out for the evening walk to the local sewage farm... I know crazy but it was meant to be a good bird spot!

Talking of bird life in Madagascar, apart from in the reserves, there was so little bird life. The sad thing is that most of the landscape has either become rice fields, burnt or chopped down and this appears to be having an impact on the bird life.

These boys were having fun racing their boats on the beach, nice to see especially given the amount of poverty in this area. The poverty becomes noticeably worse as you travel south from Tana.
