The Meridian Line
My day started with a Skype call with Christine my old French teacher in Belgium, and we chatted in English & French for over an hour. Then I had to nip to the Vets to pick up a new prescription of tablets for Bobbie & Milou. Their skin is much better and we’re now going to try to give them just one every other day.
I then took the boys for a walk along the cliff top in Peacehaven and came to the monument which stands on the Prime Meridian Line at the point it leaves the South coast of England. This is a virtual line that runs from the North Pole to the South Pole, at 0 degrees longitude, over the Royal Observatory in Greenwich which is the home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). The monument, the Prime Meridian Obelisk was erected in 1936 and is also a memorial to King George V.
I’m now in work on the ‘late’ shift, but it’s been very busy again which is great, as the time has flown!
