Register House
On our way back to the car after a good final rehearsal for the Clic Sargent choir (concert on Wednesday 13th at the Usher Hall - buy your tickets without delay) I was trying to photograph the illuminated crane, which is part of the demolition of the St James Centre to the rear of Register House, when I realised that there was a light display going on over the frontage.
It began as a clock, whose hands were rotating in reverse, years displayed earlier and earlier, presumably to indicate the records that the building contains, figures drawing back 'pages' of different colours, and many other images in a continuous projection.
We stood and watched while the Edinburgh shoppers and traffic streamed past, seemingly oblivious to the changing scene..
