Saturday Morning

This morning we laid in bed much longer than we had planned.  It felt slightly justified as I got back from Edinburgh quite late yesterday evening.

It was a frosty start and we were delighted to see that the nut feeder we'd hung out for the birds just at the beginning of the week is being well used.  We had blue tits, great tits, tree sparrows and even robins feeding on it.  Later we had a small flock of long-tailed tits visit it.

We finally got out for our morning shopping, parking in Emsworth near the beach and wandering along the shore.  The tide was out and the foreshore was filled with ducks, geese and wading birds feeding.  I wished I had taken my binoculars.  Various breeds of dog were being walked including a small white one which had clearly been having some fun in some very black smelly looking mud!

This was the view from the quay as we walked along.  I know I've blipped it quite recently but the light and the sky were just beautiful.  By the time we walked back to the car the sun had gone and the wind had picked up and it was feeling freezing.  Our hot soup for lunch was much needed!
