Bringing down the house: before and after

In which I continued to bring down the suspended ceiling in the main bedroom. A before and after shot at the close of play today. There is still a lot of hardboard to pull down but that's for tomorrow. And a repeat process on the hall landing.

JL and a lovely Kosovan plumber called round to drain out the heating system so it don't freeze up if it gets really cold. At one point as the lower rads were trickling out the plumber just put his finger over the outlet and lifted it off the wall and took it outside to do its business. There was surprisingly little gunk in the rads (that's a technical term).

I went down to the agri shop to buy a wheelbarrow - hallelujah. I'm hesitant to buy any tools because my complete armoury arrives on Friday but it was €43 well bloody spent.  And the wheel for the sack trolley had arrived and the delivery driver was singing a lefty hit from the the 1980s 'Caro amico ti scrivo' (old mate I'm writing this letter to you) We had a laugh about that when I joined in.

The guy in the agri ain't gonna be there for a while because he is off to Florence to sell Casentino Christmas Trees on the street. I wished him luck and set to with the new barrow.

The revealed beams will need some work but each day Ca di Bati becomes a little bit more our own. And we become a little bit more Ca di Bati in our own way.
