Kings Birthday

The late King's Birthday was celebrated this year by schools,  public servants and the police getting involved in a big clean up of cities in Thailand.   We knew very little about this until we set off to do our three monthly immigration check.   The traffic around the moat was very slow, then we saw some nurses and police, we thought there had been an accident.  We then realised that it was scores of volunteers picking up rubbish and the moat was being pumped and cleaned.  By the time we were in a position for me to get a shot the traffic moved so my shot blurred.   It should have warned me that it was going to be one of those days. The immigration department was closed.  That's when we discovered what was going on.  Unfortunately on the way home we didn't pass any more volunteers as we took a different route.
