Autumn and the Tree of Heaven

We think this is a Tree of Heaven (ailanthus) - and might originally have come from China. This one however came from the South of England with my Dad (thanks Dad if you are up there looking down! it is still going strong..) more than 20 years ago - and would grow prolifically if we let it. It is in a pot.

This time of year is best as the leaves turn a lovely red colour. This is so representative of autumn and is very spectacular on a crisp sunny morning with a blue sky.

Also remember Dad from when he used to take us to visit Westonburt Arboretum at this time of year - now that is a spectacular site if you are a 'Tree Hugger!
