Castlefield

The last day of the working week, but my first day in work this week.

I arrived in Manchester early and had time to take a detour through Castlefield to my destination. The blip is of reflections of the railway viaduct in the canal - the early morning light was wonderful.

I had a look at the two big apartment blocks rising beside Owen Street (extra). At least one of them is going to exceed the height of the Beetham tower. I like the latter - it is slim, and has some elegance. In my view the two new Renaker blocks look over scaled, too wide. And I am not convinced by the external treatment. Just an opinion, and best to leave considered judgement until they are completed.
