Mother of Pearl

An old friend died one year ago and he has been very much on my mind today. So it seemed natural to take a photograph of something precious. 

This is part of a wooden plate inset with a mosaic of numerous tiny pieces of Mother of Pearl. It was a gift he brought back from Egypt, thirty-three years ago.
