What use is a windmill . . .

. . .  when there is no wind? 

It's colourful, that's what - it's a dull, dreich day today and there's not a breath of wind to turn it.

The children next door stuck their toy windmill in a traffic cone and though I can sometimes hear it whirring on windy nights, today it's quite still.

It's the brightest thing around when everything else is dull!
