Lamplight.

This Victorian gas lamp in Thrifts Walk, Chesterton, Cambs is still in working order. It's situated in my area, just off the High St. When the residents wanted the rough lane made up, the council said that it would be very expensive as the base was silt from the nearby river bed and the lamp would have to go. So the residents got together to raise the money to improve Thrifts Walk and the lamp still stands.
